They Live Among Us to Release New Episodes

Cult favorite web-based serial drama “They Live Among Us” to release new installations beginning July 17.

Los Angeles, CA, July 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- They Live Among Us, the supernatural-based web series by creator Anne Lower, is scheduled to release the next 3 installments in its franchise, beginning July 17.

Not your usual web-series, They Live Among Us weaves a rich tapestry, using mythos from ancient Judeo-Christian, Asian and Greco-Roman cultures, to tell a story of fallen angels, suicidal spirits and the mortals they love as they struggle to find grace in the place known as the City of Angels. Pulp critic Will Vaharo notes that the series “makes pure pulp by throwing gothic horror, film noir, urban (LA) angst, theological theorizing, philosophical philandering, and spiritual sex into a genre-bending blender.”

“I dreamt that I was walking through the streets of L.A.,” Lower says about the creation of the project. “Downtown, where the city began. I saw a man. He intrigued me. He was tall. He wore a long coat, a sort of duster, and an air of melancholy surrounded him like a lover’s embrace. I suddenly realized that this man was not of this world; I realized he was a fallen angel – and he was in love with a prostitute.”

ScreenRead magazine says about the series “Imagine Wim Wenders’ Wings Of Desire as a web-series and you’re on your way to They Live Among Us.”

The story’s central theme revolves around the character of Caim, one of the original fallen angels, and his search for his soul-mate – the perpetually reincarnated Serafina. In this lifetime, he finds her as a downtrodden prostitute, being beaten to death by her drug-addicted lover, Rocco. Despite warnings from his friend – and fallen one – Buer, Caim steps in to intervene.

But not all fallen ones have good intentions. There is a faction of flesh-eaters, fallen angels turned demons, as well as the original succubus, Lillith. Deftly woven in are characters from Hollywood legend – Peg Entwistle, and a new Black Dahlia.

“This series is a love letter to L.A.,” Lower says. “Not the beaches, not the sunlit streets of Beverly Hills, but the L.A. of Raymond Chandler, a urban gritty environment in which people struggle for their lives – and for their souls. They Live Among Us is more than a supernatural-slice-of-life story about fallen angels and the humans they love. It is about the violence of poverty. It is about the cycle of abuse and addiction. It is about corporate greed, and those who look aside from the unfortunate ones, and feed upon the toil of others. It is about life. It is about love. It is about war. It is, ultimately, about redemption.”

The series starts Geoff Reeves as Caim, Ivet Corvea as Serafina, Rolf Saxon as Fr. Buer, Terence J. Rotolo as Rocco, Kendra S. Munger as Peg, David Stanford as Ted, Allen March as Lucien, Marcia French as Beliala and Nina Rausch as Lillith.

New characters will be appearing in Episodes 4 – 6, which begin to bring all of the separate story threads together, as the demons plot for a new war against mankind.

Viewers can watch new episodes, as well as catch up with the old, beginning at 12:01 a.m. PT on the series’ YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/TLAUTheSeries .
