SEC Names Tommy Stone President
Houston, TX, July 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Houston-based SEC Energy Products & Services (SEC) announced today that Tommy Stone has joined the company as president. Stone brings more than 30 years of experience in the natural gas industry to the position.
SEC provides natural gas compression equipment, parts and services to all parts of the oil and gas industry. The company also provides engineering services such as package design, procurement, construction, installation, inspection, project management, mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical.
In his new position, Stone, 54, will oversee SEC’s expansion of its facilities and services both in Houston and across the country, which is expected to double its production capabilities and workforce by 2014.
Stone began his career in the energy business in 1981 as a division engineer for Texas Eastern Transmission Corp. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, Stone joined Trunkline Gas Company in 1992 -- now part of Energy Transfer Partners. In 1997, his position was expanded to include Trunkline LNG Company in Lake Charles, La. In 2005 he was named vice president, operations and engineering for the South and LNG Divisions, which combined his expertise in the pipeline and LNG business. In this position he was responsible for engineering, operations, safety, environmental, administrative, security and marine activities for Trunkline Gas Company, Trunkline LNG Company, Sea Robin Pipeline, Florida Gas Transmission and Trunkline LNG’s liquefied natural gas import terminal. Most recently, Stone served as senior vice president of operations for ETP and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Citrus Corp., the owner of the Florida Gas Transmission pipeline system, which is as a joint venture between ETP and Kinder Morgan.
Stone has served in many leadership positions for both industry and civic organizations including the board of directors of the Children’s Museum of Lake Charles, La. and the Junior Achievement of Southwest Louisiana. In addition, Stone was on the advisory board for the Junior League of Lake Charles, La. and the Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Louisiana. Stone also is the past chairman of the Calcasieu River Harbor Safety Committee, a group supported by the U.S. Coast Guard to help coordinate marine activities on the Calcasieu River Channel.
Stone is a 1981 graduate of Tennessee Technological University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Stone has also attended executive management programs at The University of Michigan, The Center for Creative Leadership, The Duke University Fuqua School of Business for Executive Education and Cornell University.
