To encourage students to pursue a career in sales, SureScore, which recently acquired Campus2Careers, is hosting the second annual Student2Sales workshop. This workshop, which will be led by one of the top performing Senior Partners from New York Life, will teach students sales techniques for how to sell any product or service in any industry. There will be career opportunities with local businesses who will be sponsoring the event as well.
Austin, TX, July 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Austin, Texas – Over 30 percent of the jobs in the economy, and 100 percent of life, relates to sales. One of the biggest disconnects between education and employment is the lack of degrees and programs for sales. To encourage students to pursue a career in sales, SureScore, which recently acquired Campus2Careers, is hosting the second annual Student2Sales workshop. This workshop, which will be led by one of the top performing Senior Partners from New York Life, will teach students tips and techniques for how to sell any product or service in any industry. Because successful sales reps are competitive in nature, the workshop will include an American Idol style event where participants can compete for cash prizes and interviews for over 200 jobs in the Austin area at sponsoring companies.
One of the sponsors is Bar-Z, a fast growing mobile apps company that is looking to develop and hire inside sales reps. Their CEO and Founder, Lee Little, shared that “revenue generation is the lifeblood of any organization. Sales is a profession that requires intellect, creativity and perseverance, all traits a strong student/recent grad should have.”
Software Advice, a company that helps buyers find the right software, has also sponsored the workshop to encourage recent graduates to consider a career in sales. As a rapidly growing company, Software Advice is consistently hiring for their fast-paced, phone-intensive inside sales team. “Sales is a fundamental business skill that extends far beyond a single role at a company. While being a sales professional offers a solid career path, it also helps build an invaluable skill-set to become a better businessperson holistically,” says Austin Merritt, COO of Software Advice
Any successful business owner needs to know how to sell in order to grow their team and company. “When we started Campus2Careers I quickly realized that the product was not going to sell itself. I had to teach myself how to sell; I wish I had the opportunity to take a class like this as an entrepreneur, let alone as a student or recent grad,” says Nathan Green, founder of Campus2Careers and Vice President of SureScore.
This workshop will take place Saturday July 20th from 11am-3pm at New York Life, Austin Office at 6200 Bridgepoint Pkwy, Bldg IV, Room 125 Austin, TX 78730. To register, visit http://www.campus2careers.com/sell. For any questions, contact Campus2Careers at 512-354-7690 or info@campus2careers.com.
