A New Treasure to be Found Within the Heart of the Norfolk Broads
General release for the brand new Broad House Hotel on the Norfolk Broads.
Norwich, United Kingdom, September 01, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The new Broad House Hotel, opening on September 1st 2007, is ideal for those wanting to holiday in style and elegance, while taking in all the beauty on offer at the Norfolk Broads. The hotel is an 18th century Queen Anne country estate house set in 24 acres of beautiful countryside located on the doorstep of the tranquil Wroxham Broads.
Wroxham is often considered to be the capital of the Norfolk Broads, where boating holidays started in the late 1800’s, and with the hotel situated next to Norfolk Broads Yacht Club, it has its own private jetty for boat trips. The stunning unspoilt views across the Wroxham Broad are just one of the many enjoyable features on offer.
With a budgeted spend on the project of £2.4m, Broad House Hotel will be ‘the’ place to stay in Norfolk and within this part of the county, quality hotels are high in demand. After gracing us with its presence in August, Broad House will be aiming for at least a four star rating in its first year, and then continue the work towards becoming the only hotel in Norfolk with a five star rating.
Whether you are staying at Broad House itself or in the adjoining Coach House, you will be surrounded by green pastures, woodland and an array of colourful flowers with picturesque views a plenty, from every room. The peaceful walk down to the river is an experience all on its own, natural and unspoilt.
Broad House Hotel intends to be a luxurious hotel with all the rings of tradition with a dash of contemporary spice. The hotel is a work of art in itself, with the best in decoration, linen and unusual objects d’art.
It has nine huge en suite bedrooms, two of which are with four poster beds, with pain staking attention to detail taken in every area. Every room has its own identity, designed to complement each of the individual views available from the different areas of the house. Two of the bedrooms in Broad House have been created in the attic, and reflect a more quirky approach than the others, which keep close to its heritage with a traditional design.
The purpose of many of the original rooms used by the previous owners, the well known Norfolk couple Mr and Mrs Trafford, are being retained. The family dining room becomes the restaurant, capable of seating twenty two quests, where local produce and delicacies will be on display. The lounge has been transformed into a splendid drawing room and Mr Trafford’s study is now a bar to cater more to the guests needs.
Philip Search, joint owner with his wife Caroline commented: “We want to keep the feeling of the house, that it’s a much loved family home but it still has to work as a small hotel.”
The large Coach House has a further five en suite bedrooms. One of the bathrooms will have a steam room and a freestanding bath in the middle of the room, big enough for two people to share comfortably and gaze out across the magnificent Norfolk countryside. The interior design of this area of the estate gives a more modern feel to that experienced in Broad House.
The largest bed in Norfolk will reside there with a mammoth 7ft by 7ft mattress where guests may find difficulties getting up in time for breakfast.
The bathrooms have not been overlooked by any means, with state-of-the-art showers, cast iron footed baths and double sinks galore, and one of the bathrooms has doubled up completely with two of every facility.
Philip says: “Where possible we are using local suppliers for everything from furnishings, furniture, beds and bathroom suites. This will also be the case on the food side where we intend to source this from local food producers of which there are an abundance of quality suppliers in Norfolk and from our own kitchen garden.”
The marvellous ballroom, complete with reception room and a grand staircase entrance, is a truly inspiring asset. Perfect for any special event, but in particular Caroline Search envisages grandiosely executed weddings where the newlyweds can arrive in style, by boat on the river or by horse and carriage.
The 15th century thatched barn on the grounds has also been earmarked as a prospect for another large function room, capable of housing a party for 150 people. Similar plans are in the pipeline for the 16th century tiled barn, where a spa for both guests and locals would be perfectly situated.
Room prices will start from £130 per night, including breakfast.
