Deceased Lunatic Asylum Patients Speak Out in New Book of Channeled Stories

"Souls of the Asylum" is a collection of 23 channeled stories which recount the life stories of deceased persons who lived and worked behind the walls of a state mental health institution.

Logan, OH, July 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- A first book has been published by the husband and wife team of Doug and Berta Lockhart. It is a verbatim retelling of the life stories of those involved with or admitted to the old Athens Lunatic Asylum as received during channeling. Channeling is done either through automatic writing where the channeler’s hand is moved supernaturally or hearing spirits speak via the gift of clairaudience and then recording the messages. Doug Lockhart discovered his gift through a series of events which are described in the book.

The Athens Lunatic Asylum is now called The Ridges. Ohio University owns the buildings which now house a museum, classrooms, and various offices while the cemeteries of the institution are owned by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and maintained by the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Souls of the Asylum by Doug and Berta Lockhart is published by Balboa Press and is available at online stores such as Amazon or ordered at retail bookstores.
