American Student Dental Association Launches Advocacy Alert System, Engage

Chicago, IL, July 27, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The American Student Dental Association launched Engage, a grassroots advocacy-focused system that will be used to inform dental students about critical issues and rally in response to legislative activities that impact dentistry.

Since June, ASDA used Engage to mobilize members to urge legislators to support the Earnings Contingent Education Loans (ExCEL) Act and to oppose doubling subsidized Stafford Loans.

“Engage allows ASDA’s 20,000 members to participate in the discussions affecting their future,” said Andrew Smith, ASDA’s governance and advocacy manager. “It makes it easier for them to take action to protect themselves, their profession and the patients they serve.”

Engage also features a newsfeed tailored to dental students and organized dentistry that provides continuously updated articles, based on criteria defined by ASDA.
