TD Charitable Foundation Supports Food Bank of South Jersey with Donation
The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, recently donated a total of $10,000 to the Food Bank of South Jersey as part of the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community.
Pennsauken, NJ, July 28, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®, recently donated a total of $10,000 to the Food Bank of South Jersey as part of the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community.
The Food Bank of South Jersey (FBSJ) is the leading provider of safe and nutritious food to people in need in South Jersey. Established in 1985, the FBSJ has a three-fold mission: provide food to people in need, teach them how to eat nutritiously, and help them find sustainable ways to live a healthy lifestyle. Since its inception, FBSJ has provided over 120 million pounds of food and conducted numerous education courses to communities in Camden, Burlington, Gloucester, and Salem counties. In addition to being the primary food resource for more than 240 food pantries, kitchens, and shelters in South Jersey, FBSJ also operates direct service programs that provide food and nutrition education targeted at the most vulnerable members of the population – children and seniors. The funds from the TD Charitable Foundation will be used to support the FEED MORE program, which provides the food and essentials to FBSJ’s network of emergency feeding organizations and serves over 173,000 food insecure children, families, and seniors in South Jersey.
“Right here in South Jersey, one in four children do not know when or where they will get their next meal. One in six South Jersey seniors struggle with the difficult choice of prescriptions or food. This Darden Restaurant Grant from the TD Charitable Foundation will support the Food Bank of South Jersey’s programs for children, seniors, and families in need. This latest grant is another example of the TD Charitable Foundation’s staunch commitment to active involvement in the local community.
