Expansion Within Food Cutting Equipment Manufacturers Urschel Laboratories Celebrated with Groundbreaking Ceremony in Chesterton, IN
Urschel Laboratories, a global leader in food cutting technologies, recently celebrated its continued expansion with a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of their new building in Chesterton, Indiana.
Valparaiso, IN, July 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- “This is an exciting time in Urschel history. Construction of this new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility demonstrates our commitment to Urschel customers around the globe,” stated Bob Urschel, CEO/President of Urschel Laboratories, Inc.
The area surrounding the current manufacturing plant in Valparaiso, Indiana, U.S.A has also seen rapid development as well. The new Urschel facility will encompass 71 acres with another 160 acres to allow for future development within the company. The more than $80 million construction project will take approximately 18 months to complete, according to Director of Urschel Real Estate, Bill Baker. Urschel Laboratories has experienced tremendous growth since its founding in 1958, and has already expanded the current facility 28 times to accommodate their development.
“The strength of our workforce is one of our greatest assets. Although we reviewed many attractive offers nationwide, remaining in this area with the current Urschel team was a major factor in the site selection process,” remarked Rick Urschel, Vice President of Operations.
Urschel’s groundbreaking ceremony for their new food cutting equipment factory was attended by more than 300 employees, as well as Urschel management and local dignitaries. After a brief lunch and speeches from the management and distinguished guests, engraved shovels were handed out to the employees; and several aerial photos were taken of the group gathered around a giant outlined Urschel logo on top of the future building location.
