Fairfield Harbour Hosts Inaugural National Night Out Tuesday, Aug. 6
Local Boating and Golf Community’s Neighborhood Watch Committee to Host Anticrime Event in Conjunction with National Campaign
New Bern, NC, July 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Fairfield Harbour (http://www.fhpoa.com), a residential boating and golf community located 15 minutes from historic New Bern, has announced that its Neighborhood Watch Committee will host the community’s first National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime,” on Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Fairfield Harbour Community Center and Firehouse, located at 585 Broad Creek Road. The event is part of a national campaign through the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), a nonprofit organization that works to develop neighborhood watch groups and other crime prevention programs to create safer communities nationwide.
Sponsored by the Broad Creek Council, Fairfield Harbour’s National Night Out will encourage residents to participate in the campaign by leaving their front porch lights on from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. to show support against crime. The event itself will feature live music, food and face painting at the community center.
National Night Out is a nationwide event that began in 1984 to raise awareness for safer communities and crime prevention. This year, more than 15,000 communities across the United States, U.S. territories, Canada and military bases worldwide will host similar events on the same night. This is Fairfield Harbour’s first time hosting the event.
