Bruno Neal Appointed Examiner for 2013 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award
Indiananpolis, IN, July 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Bruno Neal of Indiana Health University – Learning Solutions located in Indianapolis, IN, has been appointed by Dr. Patrick Gallagher, Director of the U.S. Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), to the 2013 Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. The Award, created by public law in 1987, is the highest level of national recognition for performance excellence that a U.S. organization can receive.
As an examiner, Mr. Neal is responsible for reviewing and evaluating applications submitted for the Baldrige Award. The board is composed of approximately 500 leading experts selected from industry, professional and trade organizations, education and health care organizations, and nonprofits (including government).
Those selected meet the highest standards of qualification and peer recognition. All members of the board must take part in a preparation course based on the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence and the scoring and evaluation processes for the Baldrige Award.
Bruno Neal is a Learning Strategist for Indiana University Health Learning Solutions, one of the top learning functions in the country, according to the Training and Development magazine issue of October 2011. He is an author, Instructional Systems Designer, and a Training and Performance Improvement Specialist. He has been appointed to the 2010 , 2011, 2012, and 2013 Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award: and as a judge of the 2011, 2012, and 2013 American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) BEST Award.
Mr. Neal was awarded with the highly esteemed American Society of Training and Development BEST Award in 2009 and part of the team awarded with the same achievement in 2011. Mr. Neal also serves as contributor for T+D (Training and Development) Magazine. He was recently awarded with the Champion of Learning Award Certification for his contribution to learning and professional development in 2011.
Mr. Neal has spoken on ASTD International Conference & Exposition, local chapters of ASTD across the country, Cancer Treatment of America. Training and Development conference, the Training and Education chapter of the National Association of Electric Distributors (NAED), (Medical Users Software Exchange) MUSE, and “Learn from the BEST” conferences.
The Baldrige Award may be given annually in each of six categories: manufacturing, service, small business, education, health care, and nonprofit. Awards have been presented to 93 organizations, including the 2012 recipients: Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, Grand Prairie, Texas (manufacturing); MESA Products Inc., Tulsa, Okla. (small business); North Mississippi Health Services, Tupelo, Miss. (health care); and City of Irving, Irving, Texas (nonprofit).
