Adam Wainwright Teams with RealTime Fantasy Sports for Charity
RealTime Fantasy Sports will run fantasy football leagues for Waino’s World of Fantasy Football.
St. Louis, MO, August 02, 2013 --(PR.com)-- St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright is teaming with RealTime Fantasy Sports to launch Waino’s World of Fantasy Football. Wainwright is starting a fantasy football league for charity, giving fantasy users a chance to compete with Cardinals players for a chance at a league title. The entrance fee for the league is $2,500 per player with net proceeds of the donation being sent to charity. RTSports will be hosting the league for Wainwright.
"Every single cent that we earn is going to help people," Wainwright said. "The people that give to this charity, I want them to know that their money is being well used. They may not get money back in return, but they are getting a great experience, and their money will go to impacting people's lives for years and years to come."
Wainwright selected Operation Food Search and Water Missions International as the two charities to benefit from the event. To learn more about each charity, here is a link to their websites: operationfoodsearch.org and watermissions.org.
The contest will consist of four 12-team leagues with a Cardinals player in each of the leagues. The Cardinals players participating are Wainwright, Allen Craig, Matt Holliday and David Freese. Participants of the league will have a day to remember August 23, having a pre-draft brunch and a three-hour draft with one of the aforementioned Cardinals players. And after the draft, participants will watch pre-game batting practice on the field and the game against the Braves in a suite at the stadium. Winners of the leagues will not be given cash prizes but awarded a trophy supplied by FantasyTrophy.com and donated items, including a trip to Cancun and autographed items.
"It's a pretty unique experience," Wainwright said. "It's not a fundraiser where you write a check and then you're done with it and you go home. This is something that you'll be able to enjoy for months on end and interact with Cardinals players. All the trash talk and bragging rights that will go into a normal fantasy football league, that's what we're bringing, and we're raising a lot of great money for people who really need it."
Fantasy players interested in the league should head to wainosworld.com for registration details and league rules. The deadline to enter the contest is August 18.
