The Triangle’s Top Provider of Zinc Products Aids National Nonprofit in Local Hunger Relief Effort.

Blount St. in downtown Raleigh. CANstruction Inc., is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that holds annual design and build competitions to construct giant-sized structures made entirely out of donated canned food. At the closure of the competition, all Cansculptures™ are dismantled, and the cans used to build each structure are donated to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
This unique annual event, which combines architecture and activism in a fun setting, helps to collect millions of pounds of food worldwide each year toward a collective effort to reduce world hunger one community at a time. This year, The Raleigh CANstruction Competition will contribute 31,243 cans of food to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
Each of the Canscultpures™ entered in the Raleigh CANstruction Competition will be available for viewing at the First Friday Gallery Walk in downtown Raleigh on Friday, Aug. 2.
