Nashville’s Artist to the Stars, Corey Frizzell, Receives Nomination Nod for Prestigious 2013 AMG Heritage Visual Artist of the Year Award

Nashville, TN, August 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Nashville’s Artist to the Stars, Corey Frizzell, has been honored by the International Academy of Music Arts and Sciences, Inc. for the second straight year. Frizzell, the 2012 Artists Music Guild Heritage Freelance Visual Artist of the Year Award recipient, has garnered a nomination for the 2013 AMG Heritage Award for Freelance Visual Artist of the Year for his artistic collaboration with some of music’s biggest names.

The 2013 AMG Heritage Awards will be a star studded, red carpet event, taking place on November 9th, at the Broadcast Group Studios and Theater in Fort Mill, South Carolina. This years awards show will be hosted by Grammy Award Winning Legend, Chubby Checker.

The International Academy of Music Arts and Sciences, Inc. recognize the artistic achievements of select individuals with their AMG Heritage Awards. The AMG, founded by Emmy Award winners, David L Cook and Chris Nowels, began the Heritage Awards to recognize and present twenty five awards to artists in various categories. Despite the term music in the organization’s title, it umbrellas all forms of artistic expression.

2013 has kept Frizzell busy with portrait commissions by Country Music Legend, Loretta Lynn, Rural Rhythm Records for Marty Raybon's 40th Anniversary Celebration Concert and a portrait of Kenny Rogers & Dottie West for Nashville's Willie Nelson Museum among other projects.

The Frizzell family, most famous for its prominence on the Country Music Charts, is now witnessing the artistic successes of the second generation. Although he has siblings following in the Frizzell music footsteps, who have accepted the challenge of emerging from the giant shadow first cast by the family music patriarch, Lefty Frizzell, Corey chose a different path, a path to create his own shadow.

Corey falls somewhere in the middle of the six children spanning four decades of Allen Frizzell, former Nashville recording artist and younger brother of the Legendary Lefty Frizzell and Country Star, David Frizzell.

Frizzell has been a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion, acted in music videos and cast for two roles in the original Stephen King movie, “Children of The Corn.” If that's not interesting enough, he's now a writer, producer, manager, boxing coach and visual artist in high demand, creating custom portraits of the stars for the stars.

In 2006, with royal country music blood running through his veins, Frizzell came full circle being named Nashville’s Artist to the Stars for his artistic collaboration with some of Country, Bluegrass, Gospel, Americana and Roots music's biggest names, including George Jones, Randy Travis, Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Mark Newton, Carl Jackson, Mark Chesnutt, Gene Watson and Jerrod Niemann to name a few.
