Dr. Alan Mendoza Discusses the Middle East, Syria, and Russia in 2013
London, United Kingdom, August 04, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Dr. Alan Mendoza, the Founder and Executive Director of the Henry Jackson Society, is busy discussing issues related to the Middle East, Syria, and Russia in 2013.
This year has been a busy one for Dr. Mendoza. In February he launched the Henry Jackson Society publication titled, “Al-Qaeda in the US,” at a private dinner which was attended by Lieutenant General Michael Hayden, the former director of the CIA. Michael McCaul of the House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security and Peter King, formerly of the House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security, were also in attendance.
In March, Dr. Mendoza gave lectures in both Washington DC and Florida on Europe’s foreign policy.
In April, Dr. Mendoza was awarded the Disruptive Innovation Prize at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York for his work in pioneering the Henry Jackson Initiative for Inclusive Capitalism looking at different ways for society to think about the capitalist system. He was honored among others including Nicolas Berggruen, Morgan Spurlock, Psy, and Glenn Beck.
Dr. Mendoza has appeared on on BBC, Sky News, and Al-Jazeera this year in June and July. During his appearance on television, he spoke about Syria and Russia. In June Alan Mendoza also fronted a Spectator public debate. The topic of the debate was, “Assad is a war criminal- the West must intervene in Syria.” Also in June, Alan Mendoza spoke at the Cambridge Union in a debate on the Middle East Peace Process.

Dr. Alan Mendoza is a Founder and the Executive Director of the Henry Jackson Society, and directs analysis, economic affairs, research focus, strategy and development for the organisation. He is also Chief Advisor to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Transatlantic & International Security and the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Homeland Security, a Board Member of the British-American Project, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Electric InfrastructureSecurity Council, and of Bright Blue.
Dr. Mendoza is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Alan is a frequent speaker at high-profile national and international events and conferences. He has a B.A. and M.Phil in History at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and a Ph.D. at the same institution focusing on Anglo-American relations during the Bosnian War, 1992-1995.
