Outskirts Press is Pleased to Announce the Publication of Moments of Dust, Moments of Ours: The Dust That We Are is All That Bless Us by Esther Nzioka
Washington, DC, September 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- How Will You Know the Truth? When You No Longer Have the Desire to See Your Physical Reflection Because You Know That It is Not You
In Moments of Dust, Moments of Ours, poet and author Esther Nzioka issues readers a challenge: to take responsibility for our “moments of dust” as human beings and to let our divine light shine from within.
Outskirts Press is pleased to announce the publication of Moments of Dust, Moments of Ours: The Dust That We Are Is All That Bless Us by Esther Nzioka. Through her fresh and insightful series of poems, Nzioka urges readers to “appreciate, to receive, and to personify that which has been written” and to take into ourselves its “messages of personal growth, soul recognition, and empathy to human suffering.”
Moments of Dust, Moments of Ours is about acknowledging our “moments of dust” as human beings, taking responsibility for them, and dispelling them from veiling our light inside, our true sight of the magnificence around us, and becoming, instead, divinely human.
Nzioka’s delightful turn of phrase can be seen in this excerpt from “Intro to Silence Speaks”:
Clouded messages,
And moments,
That hide the harm, but
Cannot mask the bruises.
Remnant of a brek,
Inside a girl,
Who cannot give back what she uses.
Where have her moments gone;
Who has stolen her messages
From God?
“In the moments that bring our faults to our face,” Nzioka writes, “we must sense the light and feel the grace, for the depths of horror in man must not just reveal to us our faults, but enlighten us to see the heights of beatitude we can achieve if we would only burn down the veil that is distorting our sight.”
Moments of Dust, Moments of Ours is a brilliant debut work by one of this generation’s rising new poets.
ISBN: 978-1-4327-0790-3 Format: 5x8 Paperback SRP: $9.95
