Dreams in Motion: A Collection of Poetry and Short Stories Takes the Literary World by Storm

Washington, DC, September 04, 2007 --(PR.com)-- What happens when an ordinary train ride and a mysterious stranger spark erotic fantasies in the otherwise monotonous life of a young woman? That’s the question that Storm answers in her short story "The Pleasure Trip," which appears in her scintillating new book Dreams in Motion: A Collection of Poetry and Short Stories. Storm will be in Washington, DC to sign copies of the book on Friday, September 7th. Storm has been featured in several articles and blog spots such as Making HERstory: A Feminine Perspective in Art; The Amazing Race: Black People at Their Best; Dreams in Motion: From Southeast to Northwest; The Richest Treasures East of the River; Surfacing: The Katrina Anthology (her work is featured on the site, but not in the book); and Beyond Art.

Stories are an art of expression, but it is more than that. It is a glimpse into the soul of the story teller and a window into the world of another person. Poetry is powerful. Words can inspire us, provoke us to rage, bring us close to one another, make us happy and make us sad. It takes us from one emotion to the next covering every spectrum of the human existence and experience. So what happens when you combine the expression of story telling with the passion of poetry?

Awe inspiring author Storm whose real name is Marquita Siler, answers this question and more in Dreams in Motion: A Collection of Poetry and Short Stories (129 pp., $20.99), this collection of poems and short stories covers the gamut of the human experience…the good…the bad and the ugly side of life. Written from emotion---this collection covers the joys, pains, triumphs and heartbreaks everyone has experienced at one time or another. This book will carry you on a journey through every emotion in the spectrum; there are pieces that will make you laugh, cry, get angry, hope, reminisce and think.

KHADIJAH ALI-COLEMAN a free lance writer with the East of the River Newspaper says “With several irons in the fire, including a spa business and nonprofit career, Siler, also known as “Storm”, is a one woman tour-de-force. Her Dreams In Motion events have grown from a occasional affair to a monthly meeting place for a faithful following who include performers and patrons of the arts hailing from east of the river and other parts of the DC metro area.”

Actor, Def poet and author Lamont Carey, says Dreams in Motion make ordinary people into stars. So I thank them and wish them all the best in the world; but they do not need my blessing, so I’ll leave you with this: Beware of the Storm. Her dreams are already in motion.

Singer/Songwriter Setra says thank you for sharing your truth through words with the rest of us.

Multi-published author Eustace M. Bellille says …that the talent and the love, which are being shared on Dreams in Motion has inspired me to share my thoughts even more every day.

Marquita Siler received a BA in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University; a MA in Rehabilitation Counseling from the George Washington University; a Certificate in Massage Therapy from the Virginia Learning Institute; and is completing her PsyD in Clinical Psychology at Argosy University.
