Intercare Insurance Solutions' Jennifer Eilers Wins Prestigious National Industry Award
Jennifer Eilers, account executive at Intercare Insurance Solutions, a Hub International Company, has been named the 2013 Employee Benefit Adviser of the Year by Employee Benefit Adviser magazine.

Jennifer Eilers, account executive at Intercare Insurance Solutions, a Hub International Company, has been named the 2013 Employee Benefit Adviser of the Year by Employee Benefit Adviser magazine. The award is presented annually by the publication to the one person the organization determines has demonstrated a consistent pattern of innovation and achievement in benefit plan sales, consulting, and/or leadership, along with overall contribution to the profession. Eilers was selected from a large pool of qualified nominees from organizations across the country.
The recognition was given to Eilers for saving a particular client $1.2 million in potential renewal increases, along with introducing a platform to pilot the client’s product within their own population, creating a strategy designed to improve the health of the client’s employee population and helping the employees become better healthcare consumers.
Eilers’ strategy is to help clients understand that employee benefits are an investment rather than an expense, requiring a long-term strategic approach. She and her team developed a multi-year strategic plan to define the client’s situation and establish goals and a road map for providing benefits in a cost-effective and efficient way. This approach required Jennifer and her team to understand the client’s culture, business goals, benefit and wellness philosophies, resources, and initiatives.

Eilers has been with Intercare Insurance Solutions for the past year, and has been working in the benefits field for more than 15 years. She is responsible for developing and directing account strategy, monitoring team performance, and ensuring overall quality control and exceeding clients’ expectations. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland, and holds a Group Benefit Associate (GBA) designation. She is currently pursuing the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.
She lives in the Rancho Penasquitos area of San Diego.
