Baxa Selects Neenan Company for Design/Construction of New Headquarters
New Baxa world headquarters to be built in Englewood, Colo., by The Neenan Company of Fort Collins, Colo. Baxa chose Neenan after an extensive search for a design-build partner that focused on collaboration and shared values.
Denver, CO, December 02, 2005 --(PR.com)-- International healthcare-product manufacturer Baxa Corp. has selected design/build firm The Neenan Company – and Neenan’s proven collaborative process – for the design and construction of an 80,000-square-foot corporate world headquarters south of Denver.
Neenan architects currently are developing facility design plans, which will be finalized in the coming months. The Baxa world headquarters will include offices, conference rooms, break rooms and support spaces for the company’s 300-plus employees, who are scheduled to occupy the building in late 2007. The current Baxa world headquarters will be reconfigured as dedicated production space.
Baxa, which markets products to hospital pharmacies worldwide for preparing, handling, packaging and administering fluid medications, took an atypical approach in selecting a design/build firm. Rather than just requesting information on each candidate’s design/build experience, Baxa also asked about each firm’s collaborative and partnership processes, information sharing and team approach.
“It really boiled down to style,” said Jeff Baldwin, Baxa President and Chief Operating Officer. “Everyone interviewed could provide a good building. We wanted a great building. For us, a great building comes from a strong collaborative process with a design/build firm that shares values similar to ours. That firm is Neenan.”
The Neenan Company’s collaborative process is called “Archistruction®,” a client-focused process in which development, design and build systems are integrated early in planning phases and includes clients as participants.
