Durham, NC, August 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Durham’s own 3rd Annual C.F.D. offers the community a fun filled afternoon to come together for a good cause to feed our community.
The City of Durham is happy to announce that city Mayor Bill Bell will be participating in this year’s C.F.D. {Creative Food Drive –www.creativefooddrive.com} charity festival on Saturday, October 19th, as an honorary judge. C.F.D. has quickly become a charity festival that receives great turnout from Durham citizens and people from surrounding areas.
C.F.D. {Creative Food Drive}, in its third year, is a competition style community festival that has raised over 20,000 pounds of food to date. Local businesses and organizations are challenged to gather non-perishable food items and are given 90 minutes to design and build a sculpture that will compete for the winning trophy in a competition of epic proportions.
The event features live music, food trucks, local beer and a kid's zone, with pumpkin painting and a bouncy castle, will entertain the teams and the community. C.F.D. will be held on Saturday, October 19, 3-7 pm at the American Tobacco. All proceeds benefit Housing for New Hope and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
As an Honorary Judge at C.F.D. {Creative Food Drive}, Mayor Bill Bell will be assessing the design, creativity and uniqueness of each sculpture. With his background in engineering and his passion for Durham community, we know he will be a perfect fit for this event.
C.F.D. is created and organized by local Durham architecture firm MHAworks (www.mhaworks.com). MHAworks is a progressive architecture firm with offices in Durham and Greenville, NC.
