Legacy Ladies Announces the 2013 "Just for Girls" Teen Conference at Loyola Marymount University
Los Angeles, CA, August 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Three hundred teen girls will participate in the Legacy Ladies’ “Just for Girls” Teen Conference… A Pathway to Leadership, at Loyola Marymount University on September 7, 2013. This year’s workshops will offer a dynamic day of programs that build self-esteem, establish values, teach financial literacy, bridge the digital divide, and promote leadership… Just for Girls.
“This year’s “Just for Girls” Teen Conference will bring together young female leaders of communities across Los Angeles County to participate in workshops to inspire and inform them to help catapult their leadership skills to the next level,” stated Legacy Ladies’ President, Jackie Castillo. “We will start with breakfast and Zumba exercises before we have break-out workshops that will be hands-on and effective,” Castillo continued. This year’s conference builds on last year’s success, and the venue at Loyola Marymount University will allow more participants to attend the event. One of last year’s participants expressed the impact that it had on her life when she said, “I didn’t think I could go to college and do all of the paperwork and submit scholarship applications until I participated in last year’s workshops on college readiness. Now, I’m a freshman at UCLA, and I love it!”
The mission of Legacy Ladies is to be a premier organization that serves as a catalyst for change, improve the quality of life, and empower disadvantaged communities through education and other resources. Celebrating their 10th anniversary, this year’s “Just for Girls” Teen Conference will expand the Legacy Ladies mission and impact the lives of over 300 young ladies, their families and communities. Volunteers are welcomed, and applications and sponsorships for the Just for Girls Teen Conference may be found at http://www.legacyladiesinc.com/ and https://www.facebook.com/pages/Legacy-Ladies-Inc/136190566431993/.
