TiECon Texas Conference on the New Rules of Entrepreneurship

TiE Austin announces TiECon Texas 2007 "Entrepreneurship 2.0-The New Rules" featuring Keynote and Distinguished Speakers and impactful Panels with deep insight into how entrepreneurship is changing and how to adapt to the New Rules

Austin, TX, September 05, 2007 --(PR.com)-- TiECon Texas, the premier conference for entrepreneurs will be held on September 21st at the Renaissance Hotel in Austin. This year's theme is “Entrepreneurship 2.0—The New Rules.” Entrepreneurs from the high-tech, gaming, healthcare, and clean-tech industries as well as angel and venture capital investors will share their insights on new funding paradigms, hot new sectors, and global opportunities to build and sell products.

Sales can come from anywhere in the World. Talent can be sourced globally. TiECon Texas will provide first-hand insights on how the entrepreneur can take advantage of the opportunities created by the new rules,” said Anurag Kumar, TiE Austin President.

Keynote speakers will include: B. Ramalinga Raju co-founder of Satyam Computer Systems and Peter Stroples, a renowned expert of personal networking.

In addition, three panels will focus on the new rules of entrepreneurship. The “New Funding Paradigm” panel will focus on how the funding equation has changed for Texas-based startups and growth companies. Panelists include: Bill Morrow - Chairman of Texas Emerging Technology Fund, Michael Barker - Partner at Revolution Partners, Jay Campion - Partner at Access Venture Partners, and Phil Siegel - Partner at Austin Ventures Growth Equity Fund and moderated by Paul Hurdlow-Partner at DLA Piper.

The “Future Tech Sectors in Texas” panel will focus identifying the hottest growth sectors in the coming years. A distinguished panel of CEOs and experts from semiconductor, software, gaming, clean energy, will provide their insights and perspectives. Panelists include: Brett Hurt - CEO of Bazaarvoice, Kevin Lalande - Partner at Sante Healthcare, Dave Pietruszynski - CEO of BlackSand Technologies, Joel Serface - Director of Clean Energy Institute, and Gordon Walton - Co-Studio Director at Bioware Pandemic Games. Angelos Angelou, Founder and CEO of Angelou Economics will be moderating this panel.

The “Emerging Asia” panel will offer perspectives on how Texas-based companies can capitalize on sales opportunities in fast growing Asian markets as well as entrepreneurial opportunities in representing Asian companies in the U.S. market. An experienced panel of executives and experts will share their insights. Panelists include: Peter Harrison - CEO of GlobalLogic, Matt Porta – Partner at IBM Global Services China, and Mark J. Riedy- Partner at Andrews Kurth.
