A Day of Books and Blessings in Timonium: Christian Authors Collect Household Items for Pregnant Women in Crisis
The 2nd stop of the 2013 Holy Spirit-Filled & Powerful Witnesses of Christ: Christian Authors on Tour (CAOT) is at the 4th Annual African American Author's Expo scheduled Saturday, August 17th from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. in Timonium, MD. Visit the Christian Authors on Tour table to interact with ten Christian authors, purchase lots of inspirational books and to drop-off "NEW" household items to support three maternity homes run by the Gabriel Network.
Timonium, MD, August 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Ten Christian authors from various parts of the country will showcase their books with Christian Authors on Tour (http://2013caot.blogspot.com) at the 4th Annual African American Author’s Expo (http://aaaexpomedia.blogspot.com) on Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Crown Plaza Hotel located 2004 Greenspring Drive in Timonium, MD. In addition to selling their books, the authors at the Christian Authors on Tour table are scheduled to collect “NEW” household items (i.e. rolls of toilet paper, rolls of paper towels, bathroom/kitchen cleanser, Lysol spray, Lysol wipes, sponges, wash cloths, aluminum foil, baby soap powder, dish washing liquid, bleach, etc.) for three maternity homes in Maryland.
All household items dropped-off by the general public to the Christian Authors on Tour table at the 4th Annual African American Author’s Expo will be delivered to pregnant women and women with newborns in crisis who live in one of three maternity homes run by the Gabriel Network (http://gabrielnetwork.org) in Bowie, MD; Ellicott City, MD and Gaithersburg, MD. Gabriel Network provides a supportive Christian environment and help with basic needs to pregnant women facing poverty and homelessness, empowering them to embrace motherhood and choose life.
The 4th Annual African American Author’s Expo (http://aaaexpo.net) is an annual gathering in Maryland showcasing a wide variety of secular and Christian authors from across the country. The brainchild of Patricia Johnson, this event has three main goals: (1) create a platform for independent authors to showcase their books; (2) provide resource information to aspiring and seasoned authors; and (3) introduce book lovers of all ages to African American literature. Expected to attract hundreds of book lovers, this family event is free to the general public and includes a Youth Writer’s Challenge for youth writers.
