National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship Appoints Ronald E. Thomas as Vice President of Membership
New VP of Membership at NACCE is retired president of Dakota County Technical College in Minnesota.
Springfield, MA, August 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE), the nation’s leading organization focused on promoting entrepreneurship through community colleges, has announced the appointment of Ronald E. Thomas, Ph.D., to the newly created position of vice president of membership. Thomas retired June 30th as president of Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, Minnesota; he is a past NACCE board chair and a long-time supporter of the organization.
“I look forward to working with the NACCE team to grow and sustain the membership and to continue to make NACCE a strong organization across the country,” said Thomas. “These are challenging times for community colleges, and the challenges are far bigger than just budget short-falls. Everything we’re doing in the future has to be based on the principle how do you create the new entrepreneurial college. NACCE has done a terrific job of moving our thinking into that exciting new future, and I hope to play a strong role in helping to build on that and create entrepreneurial colleges.”

Thomas became president of Dakota County Technical College in 1999. Prior to that he served as president of Coffeyville Community College, in Coffeyville, Kansas, and as dean and then interim president of Rochester Community and Technical College in Rochester, Missouri. He received his Ph. D. in education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He also holds an M.S. in guidance from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and a B.S. in social science and physical education from Truman State University in Missouri.
