Apex Rehabilitation and Care Center Celebrates Senior Citizens Day
Huntington Station, NY, August 16, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Apex Rehabilitation and Care Center proudly wishes all senior citizens of our community a happy, safe and healthy Senior Citizens Day, August 21st.
Established in 1988 by President Ronald Reagan, Senior Citizens Day was initiated to recognize the achievements and contributions our nation’s senior citizens have been responsible for and to convey the gratitude and admiration of the younger generations.
Senior citizens are encouraged to spend the day any way they desire, though most simply want to enjoy the presence of family and friends. Various events and activities are organized on Senior Citizens Day to raise awareness of supporting older people and recognizing their achievements. Some businesses give special discounts or deals to senior citizens on or around August 21.
“On this day of recognition and gratitude, it is my hope that our doors are perpetually revolving with family, friends and well wishers of our residents. While this day is not recognized widely, we hope to engage more participation, as this is the one day devoted to commemorating the wisdom, achievements and sacrifices made by our elders who have gone before us,” noted Ari Silberstein, Administrator at Apex Rehabilitation and Care Center.
