Barking Rain Press announced that its crime thriller “The Diamond Seekers” was selected as the “July 2013 Kindle Book” by The Book Awards, an international monthly book award program that is open to all titles distributed by Amazon.
Vancouver, WA, August 17, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Barking Rain Press, a non-profit US publisher, announced that its crime thriller “The Diamond Seekers” was selected as the “July 2013 Kindle Book” by The Book Awards, which is the only international monthly book awards that are open to all titles distributed by Amazon. The Book Awards (formerly known as the AmazonClicks Awards) has been in existence since 2008. Anyone can nominate or vote for a title that is available on Amazon without charge or registration at their website, thebookawards.com. This openness attracts large numbers of visitors to the awards site, which has earned the nickname “the people’s book awards.”
“The Diamond Seekers,” written by the UK author duo of Jack Everett & David Coles, competed against sixty-four titles over the month and attracted more than three hundred votes. “The Diamond Seekers” tells the story of the Machiavelli crime family’s attempts to recover a fortune in blood diamonds that was lost during a car crash five years ago. The only survivor of the crash is put through the wringer in an attempt to trigger his memory and help locate the missing diamonds.
“We are extremely pleased to learn that 'The Diamond Seekers' was chosen by fans around the world for this award,” said Sheri Gormley, President & Executive Director of Barking Rain Press. “Competition for the award is strong, since international best sellers go up against talented, emerging authors from independent presses like Barking Rain Press. In a single month, thousands of readers worldwide cast votes for their favorites, and the awards site contains numerous reviews and comments about the contenders.”
“It has been a delight to take part in this truly democratic competition and experience firsthand the loyalty of our readers,” said “Diamond Seekers” co-author Jack Everett. “To win against such strong competition is the icing on the cake.”
“Over the years, we’ve seen a great many popular titles gain the tangible applause of their fans by their votes and comments, but 'The Diamond Seekers' enjoys particularly warm support,” said Peter Lihou, Managing Director of The Book Awards. “It really is quite an accomplishment for an author to inspire their customers so much that they get online and vote in such numbers and leave extremely flattering comments. 'The Diamond Seekers' is a very worthy winner!”
