Fresh Talent: Salon Moxie Welcomes Seven New Stylists
Raleigh, NC, September 06, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Jack and Joelle Ray, owners of Salon Moxie, recently hired seven stylists – or “rising stars,” as they like to call them -- for the new North Raleigh salon.
According to Joelle Ray, these stylists were hired because they exhibit “natural talent, a positive attitude, and a passion for this industry.” All but one graduated from the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill. They are: Mary-Taylor Valand of Raleigh; Kegan Rushing from Brooklyn, NY; Nikki Galloni from Jamestown, NC; Lauren Lawson from Wilmington, NC; Jessica Duncan from Hickory, NC; and Erin Shebaugh from Scranton, PA.
Also joining Salon Moxie’s roster is Shannon Creek of Chattanooga, TN, a graduate of Mitchell’s Hair Academy in Cary.
Salon Moxie is a new concept from the Rays, who also own the award-winning Samuel Cole Salon on Newton Road. Their intent here was to fill the void they perceived between “budget” salons and more expensive destinations, like Samuel Cole, and do so in an environment that is “fresh, hip, and high-energy,” Ray said.
“Salon Moxie is the alternative,” she added. “You shouldn’t have to choose between your pocketbook or your looks, and just because you don’t want to spend top dollar doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have great hair. We see Salon Moxie as a way to meet a market need: a salon where you can get the freshest looks from the freshest talent, in a cool, exciting environment, at moderate prices.
