AveXis Inc. Names Director of Clinical Operations and Research
Dallas, TX, August 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- AveXis Inc. (avexisinc.com), a synthetic biology platform company, today announced Minna Du as the company’s Director of Clinical Operations and Research.
This is a critical position within the company, as AveXis is focused on research/development of technology for disease treatment. Specifically, AveXis’ first focus is spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), the most common genetic cause of infant mortality in the world, and one for which there currently is no medical treatment.
Ms. Du has a scientific research background through positions with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Notably, her clinical experience from her previous position includes data analysis and initiation of Phase I clinical trials.
From MIT, Ms. Du received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in chemical-biological engineering and biology with minors in management science and economics. Ms. Du joins her identical twin, Mindy, on the AveXis team.
