Campbell Law, Divinity School Announce Dual Degree
JD/MDiv Degree Program to Begin in Fall 2013.
Raleigh, NC, August 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Campbell Law School (http://law.campbell.edu) and the Campbell University Divinity School have announced the establishment of a new dual degree program. The program, which begins with the fall 2013 semester, allows students to pursue and obtain a Juris Doctor at Campbell Law, as well as a Master of Divinity from the Divinity School.
“We are excited to announce this partnership with the Divinity School,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard. “Our law school, and Campbell University as a whole, are built around service to our fellow citizens. Both of these disciplines empower graduates to lead and serve their communities and, when combined, one’s ability to make a positive impact is only exemplified.”
The JD/MDiv program integrates the fields of law and ministry in furtherance of careers in either or both disciplines. The flexible program of study is individualized to provide each student with the best feasible combination of these two complementary disciplines, each of which can be viewed as a calling to serve others.
“From its beginning 17 years ago, one of the strengths of Campbell University Divinity School has been its ability to draw on the resources of a comprehensive university,” said Divinity School Dean Andrew H. Wakefield. “Our students have already benefited from opportunities to take selected law classes, such as Non Profit Corporations, which have direct application to their anticipated ministry contexts. This new dual degree is a wonderful way to strengthen our relationship and to build on our shared commitment to academic excellence and to service.”
Campbell Law offers six dual degree programs - four with Campbell University and two with NC State University - in an effort to provide students with maximum exposure and preparedness for a wide assortment of career opportunities in the fields that continue to shape the economy. In addition to the JD/MDiv, Campbell Law also offers a Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration program with both NC State University’s Jenkins Graduate School at the Poole College of Management and Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business, as well as a Juris Doctor/Master of Public Administration with NC State University’s School of Public & International Affairs, a Juris Doctor/Master of Trust & Wealth Management with Campbell University’s Lundy-Fetterman School of Business, and a Juris Doctor/Master of Science in Public Health with Campbell University’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences.
