18 Karat Reggae to Release New Compilation: Rasta Taking Over
Los Angeles, CA, August 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- TCOOO and Irie Sounds International are pleased to present the release of 18 Karat Reggae Hits: Rasta Taking Over. The compilation, featuring some of the hottest tracks in modern cultural reggae is set for release September 3rd, 2013.
In the last few years, many have claimed that reggae music is dying. This compilation sets to prove naysayers wrong – quality reggae music is very much alive both in Jamaica and internationally. Veteran artists like Sugar Minott, Frankie Paul, Dawn Penn, Cedrick ‘Im’ Brooks, Luciano and Beenie Man are joined by up-and-coming artists like Andrew Reid (son of Junior Reid), Boom Viniyard, Binghi Ghost, MasSicker and Joshua Hales.
The release starts off in salute of one of Jamaica’s finest voices with the inclusion of Games You Play, the last song recorded by reggae legend Sugar Minott. Other highlights include Boom Viniyard’s I Survive, Frankie Paul’s Morning Light, and Little Kirk’s Ancient Warrior.
18 Karat Reggae Hits: Rasta Taking Over is a collaborative effort between 2 premier production houses in reggae music. TCOOO (an acronym for Taking Care of Our Own) is a collective of artists, managers, producers, and business people started 8 years ago, striving for self-sufficiency and success of their community.
