Bradley Beach's First Annual “Thank You, Neighbor” Event Saturday, September 28 Jersey Shore Town Celebrates Good Neighbors and Promotes Community Values

New Jersey shore town celebrates good neighbors and all they have done for each other during and after Sandy.

Bradley Beach, NJ, August 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The entire Bradley Beach community -- led by the Library, Mayor’s Office and Chamber of Commerce -- are working together on their first annual "Thank You, Neighbor” celebration on Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 1-3 pm.

The “Thank You, Neighbor” event was created to salute individuals who stepped up to help their neighbors in Bradley Beach, especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and the recent recession.

“We have heard so wonderful stories about good neighbors we wanted to create an opportunity to honor the people who make Bradley Beach a great town," says Library Director Janet Torsney. "The Library is happy to bring people together to recognize the things we do for each other and to promote the qualities of being a good neighbor."

"Every good neighbor -- from the kid who mows your lawn to the people who respond to emergencies -- will be honored because all these caring activities create a stronger community," says Friends of the Library President Joan Cicchi.

"We are also mindful of the anniversary of Sandy," says Library Board President Jeanne Beaudette. "This is an opportunity to recognize the good things we learned from the storm and its aftermath."

How Thank You, Neighbor Works

Between now and September 13, people will recognize their neighbors by submitting Thank You, Neighbor forms to the Library. Anyone can submit a form. There is no limit to the number of neighbors each person can recognize.

On September 28, we will celebrate Good Neighbors at the Library from 1 to 3 pm. Good neighbors -- and the people who recognized them -- will come together to relax together and enjoy desserts and entertainment.

Thank You, Neighbor is sponsored by The Bradley Beach Public Library and the Friends of the Bradley Beach Library. Partners include the Bradley Beach Elementary School, Borough of Bradley Beach and Bradley Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Thank You, Neighbor forms are available at the Library and on its website www.bradleybeachlibrary.org.
