“Bobs and Lolo” Speak Out About Extreme Child Poverty
Canadian children's entertainers join musicians from ten countries to ask people to sponsor children.
Kitchener, Ont, Canada, September 07, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Canadian musicians “Bobs and Lolo” from Vancouver, British Columbia, are one of sixteen international artists featured on the new Worldview website worldview.ca. Other Canadians include Joel Kroeker (also from Vancouver), guitarist Maneli Jamal and singer/songwriter Monica Joy - both from Ontario. Robyn Hardy (Bobs) and Lorraine Pond (Lolo) are the only children's performers in the coalition of indie bands and singer/songwriters on the site.
In addition to their music video for Ocean Blue, the pair also talk about extreme poverty and child sponsorship. According to Pond, “We all have the power to make a difference in the life of a child, and there's nothing more important in this world than ending extreme child poverty.”
Site creator Stephen Jarnick says “It's great to have Robyn and Lorraine involved with Worldview. We often tend to feature musicians who are edgier than the charities themselves would have as associate artists because we feel that anyone, including people who like punk rock bands, can sponsor a child. They definitely keep us a little more “family friendly” and their focus on children is obviously a fantastic fit with what we're all about.”
To find out more about “Bobs and Lolo” go to their website bobsandlolo.com or their MySpace page myspace.com/bobsandlolo.
Worldview is an international volunteer movement based in Canada that teaches how child sponsorship works and encourages support of the world's four major child sponsorship organizations – Christian Children's Fund, Compassion, Plan and World Vision. It is not a charity and it doesn't accept donations.
