Virtek Presenting Award-Winning Iris Spatial Positioning and LaserQC Rapid Inspection Systems at EMO Hannover
The world’s premier trade fair for the metalworking sector will be held September 16 through 21 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds.
Waterloo, Canada, August 28, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Virtek Vision International announced today their participation at EMO Hannover taking place September 16 through 21 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds in Germany. In hall 16, stand F02 Virtek will perform live demonstrations of its Award-winning Iris™ Spatial Positioning System and flagship LaserQC® Rapid Inspection System.
A new breakthrough precision assembly system that accelerates manufacturing by eliminating costly templates and manual measuring/marking, the Iris Spatial Positioning System (SPS) ensures products are manufactured as designed. In June, Iris received the highest level award for product innovation from the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) Partnership, Inc., an affiliate of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.
Iris is designed for companies that manufacture heavy machinery, like earth moving equipment (excavators, mining trucks), locomotives, ships, pressure vessels and other large-scale products by projecting CAD based images of the secondary parts directly onto the base assembly, which is also dynamically located by the system. This eliminates the need for cumbersome and expensive templates or time consuming and inaccurate measuring/marking processes. Users report significant improvements in product quality with dramatic reductions in assembly rework typically caused by human error, a three-fold improvement in productivity, improved worker safety and reduced costs due to the elimination of physical templates and non-value-added steps.
With an evolution of more than 15 years and over 1000 systems installed worldwide, LaserQC is a family of rapid inspection systems that employs lasers to measure the accuracy of two-dimensional parts to very tight tolerances within 0.05mm (0.002 inches) and formed parts to tolerances within 0.25mm (0.010 inches). Advantageous for sheet metal and other manufacturing environments to improve quality control and reduce waste, LaserQC's intuitive user-interface allows all cutting and punch machine operators to quickly become fully proficient in proofing their own parts, removing the QC bottleneck. This makes first article and audit sample inspections quick, accurate and easy to obtain.
Ralph Beier, LaserQC and Iris Sales Manager EMEA for Virtek comments: “EMO Hannover is an ideal venue to exhibit our new Iris Spatial Positioning technology and proven LaserQC rapid inspection systems. The show attracts visitors from a range of metalworking production processes including our target markets of welding assembly and sheet metal. We have developed live demonstrations of both Iris and LaserQC that will be of interest to EMO show visitors who are looking to ease manufacturing flow and increase final output.”
Exhibitors come to EMO Hannover from all over the world and from all segments of metalworking technology. With approximately 60% of exhibitors from outside of Germany, EMO Hannover is the world's most international trade fair for metalworking.
