Yoga Classes and Volunteer Opportunities on the Appalachian Trail
A yoga and stewardship hike will allow guests to relax their minds and bodies as they get in touch with nature and learn about volunteer and stewardship opportunities on the Appalachian Trail.
Boiling Springs, PA, September 01, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) invites you to the September edition of their Third Thursdays event series — a yoga and stewardship hike that will take place on September 19th at 6 p.m. The hike will take place at two locations along the Appalachian Trail (A.T.): Children’s Lake in Boiling Springs and Pine Grove Furnace State Park in Gardners.
Each event will begin with a 30-minute yoga class taught by Michele Landis and Lisa Stets, registered yoga teachers at Simply Well in Carlisle. After warming up with the yoga sessions, guests will head out onto the A.T. with Dennis Hurley of the Susquehanna Appalachian Trail Club and Mike O’Connor of the Mountain Club of Maryland. While hiking, guests will learn about the wide variety of opportunities available for volunteering and stewardship on the Trail.
All Third Thursday events are free and open to the public. Space is limited to 25 participants per hike and registration is required. The ATC’s Third Thursday series is funded in part by the National Environmental Education Foundation and Toyota through their Everyday Events grant program.
