ALC Releases New Video ESD Training Courses for Electronics Operators

Automated Learning Corporation® announces availability of a new series of three video-based training courses in electrostatic discharge (ESD) control. Courses are targeted to electronics manufacturers that require ESD controls for ESD sensitive components and assemblies. Courses are complete with instructor guide, and knowledge quiz that ensures students have understood the content.

Kanata, Canada, September 08, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Automated Learning Corporation (ALC) of Kanata, Canada announced today availability of a new series of three video-based training courses in electrostatic discharge (ESD) control. ALC has targeted the courses to electronics manufacturing facilities that require ESD controls for ESD sensitive components and assemblies.

Are You "ESD Ready"? - Many are not

Electrostatic discharge related failures continue to cost electronics manufacturers many millions of dollars every year. The cost of a damaged wafer, die, component, or assembly might be only a few cents or could reach thousands of dollars, and the requirements of high-performance miniaturized products are driving development of electronic components that are increasingly sensitive to static discharge damage. This has created concern for many manufacturers that are now required to deal with a new generation of ESD sensitive components.

Current electronics industry standards call for effective ESD control programs that include initial and recurrent ESD awareness training for all personnel who might come into contact with ESD sensitive items. This new series of video ESD training courses is designed to address this requirement.

The Video ESD Training for Operators series includes ESD: An Introduction, Manufacturing Controls, and Personal Grounding. Together These ESD training videos explain step-by-step the importance of controlling static in the workplace, how static occurs and how to protect against discharge that can damage static-sensitive components and assemblies. While primarily intended for assemblers and support personnel, anyone involved in electronics manufacturing will benefit from these ESD training videos.

The LearnTech video format is convenient as an individual learning resource and is ideal for instructor-led group presentation. Video courses come complete with instructor guide, course evaluation, and a knowledge quiz that allows instructors to train, test, verify, and certify that students have understood the content
