New Current Affairs Show "Let's Connect" Begins Airing on WMCT-TV

MEDC program to connect local residents to the people & issues that matter to their community.

Marlborough, MA, September 06, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Marlborough Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), in conjunction with WMCT-TV Marlborough, is launching its new business and current affairs program “Let’s Connect.”

The first episode will premiere on WMCT-TV (local cable channel 8) on Friday, September 6 at 8:30 p.m. EST.

Produced and hosted by MEDC communications manager and broadcast journalist, Lora Markova, “Let’s Connect” will focus on news and issues affecting the local Marlborough economy and community. The program will include interviews with government officials and business leaders, feature reports on current economic developments, and community event listings and announcements.

The first episode will highlight current MEDC and Marlborough City Council initiatives, as well as local tourism and hospitality sector developments. Featured guests will include Marlborough City Council President Patricia Pope, MEDC Executive Director Tim Cummings, and Embassy Suites Hotel General Manager Richard Tomanek. The MEDC will also launch its new Restaurant of the Monthinitiative by announcing the September honoree on the show.

“We think that television is a great way to showcase the incredible amount of development in our city, and not just the things that the MEDC is responsible for,” said MEDC Executive Director, Tim Cummings. “Our Mayor, our City Council, our business leaders, they all work hard to build and improve the Marlborough community, and we want to let the city’s residents know exactly what that work is.”

“The title ‘Let’s Connect’ represents the purpose of the show,” said producer and host, Lora Markova. “We want to connect with our viewers. We want to give them the opportunity to weigh in on the issues that matter to them. We want them to ask our guests the questions they want to hear the answers to. So we hope our future shows will be much more interactive and will allow our viewers to decide what they want to see and hear.”

"The MEDC does plenty of great work in the city," said WMCT-TV Executive Director, Dan Guidon, "so partnering with them to do this show makes a lot of sense. Keeping viewers up to speed on what is going on in Marlborough is a big part of what we do, so we're pleased to add 'Let's Connect' to our lineup."

After its September 6th launch, new episodes of “Let’s Connect” will air on the first Friday of every other month. Episodes will re-air on Sundays at 2:30 p.m., Mondays at 9:30 a.m., Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m., and Fridays at 8:30 p.m.
