EU LOCIMAP project for low carbon industrial parks announces next workshops in Finland and Spain in October and November 2013.
The Hague, Netherlands, September 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- On the 2nd and 3rd of October in Kokkola (FI) and the 13th and 14th of November 2013 in Tarragona (ES), the EU LOCIMAP (Low Carbon Industrial Manufacturing Parks) project will organize its second and third project workshop.
These events will offer participants from industry, industrial park operators, regional and local government, NGOs and other significant agencies the chance to discuss ways to improve efficiency and reduce resource use of European industrial parks.
The LOCIMAP project focusses on possible routes to low carbon industrial manufacturing parks and the opportunities for closer integration of manufacturing processes. At the workshop, topics of discussion will include:
- Industry and Community Needs, Targets and Barriers
- Priority Industry Sectors for Enhanced Integration
- Carbon Reduction Potential
- Enabling Technology
- Supply Chain Considerations
- Barriers to Implementation and Steps to Overcome
Outcome of the workshop discussions will be taken into consideration in future work of the project group and the preparation of the final white paper of the project, which is to be issued mid-2014.
Results are being made available via the project website, along with summaries of project deliverables achieved so far in this 2 year investigation of how to secure Europe’s leading manufacturing bases.
