New Open Access Journal in Pediatric Surgery from Thieme: "European Journal of Pediatric Surgery Reports"
New York, NY, September 03, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Thieme is pleased to announce the launch of a new open access journal entitled "European Journal of Pediatric Surgery Reports" ("EJPS Reports"). As a companion to "European Journal of Pediatric Surgery," "EJPS Reports" compiles case reports of great clinical relevance to all fields of pediatric surgery. It complements the research findings and reviews published in "European Journal of Pediatric Surgery." The new open access title ensures that new clinical approaches to therapeutic management and specific clinical findings will thus be reported to the pediatric surgical community to further the understanding of existing disease etiology and pathology.
The newly appointed Editor for "EJPS Reports" Mikko Pakarinen (Helsinki, Finland) comments, “Case reports are extremely popular within our community and we are meeting this demand by offering this new specialized publication. New and experienced authors now have a forum designated to the compilation of their unique findings, observations and experiences encountered by them in all fields of pediatric surgery. We are also very pleased about the launch of 'European Journal of Pediatric Surgery Reports' for the reason that we now are able to accept a greater number of cases than previously possible, when these were integrated in 'European Journal of Pediatric Surgery'.”
“The launch of "European Journal of Pediatric Surgery Reports" is a direct result of the continuing success we experience with "European Journal of Pediatric Surgery." Now that we have a publication solely committed to case reports, these will no longer feature in "European Journal of Pediatric Surgery." This of course, generates more space and allows us to accept more original or review articles of significance. I am delighted with this new arrangement, which caters to both kinds of vital communication, namely case reports and original research,” adds Benno Ure (Hannover, Germany), Editor-in-Chief of "European Journal of Pediatric Surgery."
"EJPS Reports" will be available online and in print. All manuscripts submitted to "EJPS Reports" undergo rigorous peer review. Supplementary material such as images and videos are encouraged for submission. As an open access publication, all articles in "EJPS Reports" are freely available for all to read and download from Thieme E-Journals. Archival print issues will be published and circulated to all print subscribers of E"uropean Journal of Pediatric Surgery."
