Mashariki Africa Launches Hospitality Internships in East Africa

Mashariki Africa, a hospitality internships and work placements program and portal, officially launched today and is accepting applications in three East African destinations: Zanzibar Islands, Serengeti in Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya.

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, September 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Mashariki Africa, a hospitality internships and work placements program, officially launched today and is accepting applications in three East African destinations: Zanzibar Islands, Serengeti in Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya.

Graduates and job seekers looking for internships can apply through their website located at MasharikiAfrica.com

"We are very excited about the launch today," the Program Director Mr. Hashim Ahmed commented. "Internships in Africa are very rare, let alone paid ones. Mashariki is fulfilling both options."

"Based on our research of top internship destinations, the stipends our employers are providing are very competitive. For example, South Africa is the only African country in the top 10 destinations for interns, however most programs require applicants to pay for entry, or are strictly volunteer based. Candidates are also required to cover expensive airline tickets and other costs," he adds.

Mashariki believes it will provide fresh change for interns, students and job seekers considering East Africa. All its programs are sponsored by leading hotels, resorts and safari park lodges owners and operators in the region.

Mashariki salaries are ranging from US $500 to US$800 per month. The average stipends from comparative countries is $200 to $400 per month. In addition, Mashariki programs also provide successful applicants with a return airplane ticket to any of their destinations in East Africa, plus accommodation, transportation, and boarding. There are no fixed starting dates, allowing applicants to apply and start any time.

Interns will have the opportunity to experience wild life, see the Lions of Serengeti and Mount Kilimanjaro, explore historic Stone Town or swim with the dolphins in Zanzibar, meet with Maasai warriors and learn some Swahili.

While working they could be organizing a big event and conference in a 5 Star hotel in Nairobi or providing destination tips to the hotels and lodges guests and visitors from around the globe.

Employers and sponsors expect to benefit from visiting intern testimonials and increase awareness about East Africa as a leading Safari and Holiday destination.

"Hotels in the region are experiencing a higher number of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, German and guests other European countries. The program sponsors are therefore very keen to attract interns with such foreign language skills, which will perfectly complement their visitors and hotel guests' experience," says Ahmed.

"Our sponsors are in the business of running hotels; we are working very closely with them to ensure the internships gain maximum benefit during their 6 months stay," he adds.

According to one of the employers, their aim of sponsorship is to create the best learning environment for interns and applicants. "We want motivated candidates to get a fair opportunity in the selection process, and we have partnered with Mashariki because we believe they are capable of achieving our vision for the program."

Successful applicants will gain valuable and practical hospitality experience working in leading resorts and safari park lodges in national parks, and also enjoy deep cultural and holiday experiences during their short terms stays in Zanzibar, Serengeti or Nairobi.
