Tigerlily Foundation Hosts Pajama Glam in New York City
Event to educate girls about body health and wellness, and raise funds for breast cancer programs - November 9, 2013.
New York, NY, September 11, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Following Tigerlily Foundation’s huge success with its 1st Annual Pajama Glam in Virginia, it will host its 2nd Pajama Glam in New York City on November 9, 2013.
An event idea conceived as the brainchild of 10-year old, Noelle, to bring together girls and educate them about body health and wellness, and raise funds for breast cancer, picked up a lot of momentum and resulted in one of Tigerlily's most successful events ever. With about 250 attendees present, 25 vendors, glam stations, zumba dancing, yoga, exercise, information on nutrition, wellness, and some sweet treats mixed in for good measure, Pajama Glam was a resounding success. The event was directed by Maggy Francois and featured a fashion show by My Bougie Baby, stations by Stara Glam, Ariella Faith, Current Boutique, Oh My Sweetness, The Roselle Center, Three's Company Miche, Cupcake Ladi, Jordin's Paradise, Sweet Treats, Oh My Sweetness, Sugar and Ice, Celebrating You Spa, W Salon, Stella and Dot, Nations Tours and Transportation, Allways Yoga, The Bangle, Tiptop Photobooth, Catalyst Gourmet, WDCW DC50TV, Jan of Happy Factory and more. The event was sponsored by Backflow Technology LLC, Washington Property Management and Waterbrook Dental.
Allyn Rose, Ms. District of Columbia 2012 hosted the Virginia event, DJ Neekola played the beats, and Marshall Moneymaker, The Pink Fireman and Founder of For 3 Sisters, beauty queens Sarah Hillware, Mary David and Gilda Villela made special appearances. Guests also enjoyed a raffle, beverages, hors d-oeuvres, styling sessions, make-overs, manicures, massages, dance lessons, wellness, pictures on the pink carpet and non-stop fun. The event was featured as one of the Top 10 Events in Washington Parent, as one of Northern Virginia Magazine's Women's History Month highlights, in Guest of A Guest, K Street Kate Magazine, and in Scene Bisnow. About Tigerlily Foundation:
Tigerlily Foundation is one of the only organizations in the nation providing full lifecycle, service-oriented assistance to young women (15-40) before, during and after breast cancer. The Tigerlily Foundation focuses solely on women between the ages of 15 and 40 and works to empower young women to be their own best advocates for their health. 11,000 young women are diagnosed with breast cancer annually, and 1,100 die of the disease. Even though they get breast cancer less often than older women, younger women tend to have more aggressive breast cancers, so education about the risk factors and early detection is key. Tigerlily Foundation exists to decrease this disparity, and with the motto of "Beauty, Strength and Transformation," the aim is to change lives. Visit www.tigerlilyfoundation.org to learn more.
