Jumper Calcutta Trophy Established
The American Trakehner Association will now award a trophy to the winning jumper horse's owner in the annual ATA Jumper Calcutta.
Newark, OH, September 18, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Trakehner horse winning the breed’s exciting Jumper Calcutta—held annually at the American Trakehner Association’s annual convention—will now win a trophy in addition to glory.
High bidders on the winning horse and that horse’s rider have always received a cash payout. Now the horse’s owner will have a tangible reward, as well. Donated by past ATA President Brad Kerbs, the impressive crystal trophy carries the association’s name and logo, along with the year the Calcutta was won.
The Jumper Calcutta is only one of the events programmed for spectators at the ATA convention, being held for the second year in a row at Batavia’s Majestic Farm outside Cincinnati on Oct. 3-5. All horse activities are free and open to the public, and spectators are even welcome to place bids in the Jumper Calcutta.
If you’re in the area, you can try your hand at picking the Trakehner capable of best jumping the course. This year’s jumper competition will be on a course designed by Sue Williams, owner of the great U.S. Olympic jumping medalist, Trakehner stallion Abdullah *Pg*E*.
