World of Art Showcase to Feature Wendy Wilkins and Flora Pinkham
Local Artists to Exhibit at Inaugural Raleigh Art Show
Raleigh, NC, September 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The World of Art Showcase (WOAS), an international art show dedicated to exhibiting talented artists and creating a community where artists have direct access to their market, has announced that Wendy Wilkins and Flora Pinkham will be sharing a booth to exhibit their works at the inaugural event Friday, Nov. 1 through Sunday, Nov. 3 at the Raleigh Convention Center, located at 500 S. Salisbury Street.
Wendy Wilkins is a professional artist and businesswoman with a career in marketing and entrepreneurship. She has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Wilkins creates her masterpieces by mixing abstract art and realism and is one of the first artists to use alcohol inks as her medium, producing rich vibrant colors to create movement and depth. Bull City Art & Frame Co., located in Durham, N.C., chose to display 12 of her original paintings as well as prints and cards. She also created 10 watercolor illustrations for the book Rabbit’s Garden – Fables for your 401(k) to demonstrate information in an easy to understand and memorable way. The book was published in March 2013.
Flora Pinkham has a Bachelor of Arts in fine art from Messiah College with additional education from Temple University. Pinkham began working with oils at the age of 12 after a trip to Europe where she was inspired by some of the world's greatest works of art. With an appreciation for a variety of subject matter, from quiet woodland scenes to cluttered cityscapes, Pinkham travels throughout the east coast and beyond for new sources of inspiration.

The World of Art Showcase (WOAS), sponsored by Jerry’s Artarama, is an international art show dedicated to exhibiting talented artists and creating a community where artists have direct access to their market. The inception of WOAS arose from a desire to redefine the role art plays in our society – to get back to the grassroots of what art stands for and to revolutionize the way the art market functions. Aligning its vision with that of the Raleigh Arts Commission in transforming the "City of Oaks" into the "Creative Capital of the South" WOAS will host its inaugural event at the Raleigh Convention Center the first weekend in November. Audience members will have the opportunity to attend receptions, artist lectures, panel discussions, live art demonstrations and more.
