Plano, TX, September 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The InTouch Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival will proudly launch into its 34th year at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 20 and the three-day festival will run through the evening of Sunday, September 22 at Oak Point Park in Plano, Texas. ITCU has become synonymous with the festival since becoming their title sponsor seven years ago, making InTouch the balloon fest’s longest running title sponsor.
Launches will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 7 a.m. (weather permitting). Between the launches, festival goers can partake in a wide-variety of fun family activities including a car show, inflatable rides, rock climbing wall, several live music performances and of course, lots of delicious food. The large Kids Korner tent offers a free alternative to rides with multiple arts and crafts stations.
Tickets are available at the gate but to save time, attendees are encouraged to purchase their advance tickets at any InTouch Credit Union Texas location. Admission is $5 for a one day pass and kids under 36” are free. Rides range from $1 to $4 with All Day Play Wristbands available for purchase as well.
The Plano Balloon Festival Inc. is a nonprofit organization that educates event attendees on hot air ballooning, which also benefits other local nonprofit organizations in the community by offering them an opportunity to showcase their agency. Of the numerous nonprofits involved in the ITCU Plano Balloon Fest each year, ITCU selects three groups to receive a generous donation to further their programs and services for the community. This year, to celebrate its seven-year partnership with the festival, ITCU has increased the donation to these three selected organizations to $777.77 each.
Additionally, ITCU will host a drawing, open to the public during the festival (ages 18 and over) for three MasterCard® gift cards; two in the amount of $250 and one lucky winner will receive one for $500. These three gift card winners will then have the opportunity to select their favorite from the dozens of nonprofits at the event and their gift card amount will be matched as a donation from ITCU to their selected charity.
“We are thrilled to celebrate seven years of partnering with The Plano Balloon Festival. We are very proud of our involvement with an event that has entertained hundreds of thousands of visitors over that time and at the same time, provided funding for non-profit organizations in our community,” said Diane Gerstner, Executive Vice President of InTouch Credit Union.
Oak Point Park is located at 2801 E. Spring Creek Parkway Plano, Texas 75074. The festival is open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, September 21 and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 22.
