Laugh in the Face of Breast Cancer: A Fundraiser Event Benefiting South Asian Breast Cancer Awareness (SABCA) Foundation and Think Pink 365 Campaign

Fundraising event at Gotham Comedy Club in New York City, headlined by Akaash Singh - featuring Saurin Choksi, Subhah Agarwal, and Tushar Singh.

New York, NY, September 19, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Gotham Comedy Club will be hosting a fundraiser benefiting South Asian Breast Cancer Awareness (SABCA) Foundation and its global Think Pink 365 campaign to raise awareness about Breast Cancer in the South Asian communities on September 25 between 7:30 to 10:30 pm.

The fundraiser will headline comedian, Akaash Singh, who made a name for himself on MTV for their New Year’s Eve Bash 2011. Akaash was piloted in The Desi Weekly in 2012 and 2013 and in the hit show Failosphy. He was also on Fuse TV’s highest rated show Video on Trial, and he can currently be seen on The Bracket on the MSG channel, as well as “Writer’s Block,” a web series on MTV Desi, which he also wrote. Akaash is respected for his relentless, thought-provoking brand of humor that catapults and energizes audiences who are left in laughter from the fearless honestly and his gripping stage presence.

The fundraiser also includes, Tushar Singh who started doing stand up in NYC in 2006. He has performed at clubs and colleges across the county. He produces/hosts a successful stand up show in Santa Monica called Unnecessary Evil at the Westside Comedy Theater, every Friday at 8pm. Saurin Choksi, a comediation from Chicago who has been fortunate to work with Rory Scovel, Tig Notaro and Ian Edwards. This year he has performed at the TBS Just for Laughs Chicago, Bridgetown and Limestone Comedy Festivals. He is a regular at Laugh Factory Chicago, The Comedy Attic & Second City’s UP Comedy. Subah Agwaral, has regular appearances at New Yok Comedy Club, Greenwich Broadway, and the Laughing Devil. She has performed at the Women in Comedy Festival, and was a featured comedian on the popular web series “Modern Comedian.”

SABCA Foundation is a project of United Charitable Programs, a registered 501(c) (3) public charity. The mission of SABCA Foundation is to create awareness about Breast Cancer in the South Asian and other communities and encourage them to get an annual mammogram. Additionally SABCA Foundation has a global awareness campaign for Breast Cancer "Think Pink 365" for continuous support the cause throughout the year.
