The A4 Shim Stock is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel containing 2.0 to 3.0% corrosion-resistant molybdenum, which not only increases general corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, and acids, but also provides increased strength at elevated temperatures.
The A4 Stainless Steel Shim Stock rolls are available in 150mm x 1.25m, in thicknesses of .05 mm, .10 mm, .25 mm, .25 mm, .30 mm, .40 mm, .50 mm, .65 mm, and .80 mm.
Typical uses for A4 stainless material includes: exhaust manifolds, furnace parts, heat exchangers, jet engine parts, pharmaceutical and photographic equipment, valve and pump trim, chemical equipment, digesters, tanks, evaporators, pulp, paper and textile processing equipment, parts exposed to marine atmospheres, and multiple forms of tubing.
