First Technical Book Released to Target CRE Loaded Programmers

Memphis, TN, September 12, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Pithy Productions and The osCommerce University Press today released “Inside CRE Loaded: Volume 1 – The Essentials.” This book makes CRE Loaded the first Open Source ecommerce solution to offer advanced documentation above and beyond a basic user manual.

Written by Kerry Watson and David M. Graham, this ground-breaking book contains documentation of the structures of the CRE Loaded files, data and software. The book will be useful to webmasters, web designers, and developers. These readers will find all of the basic information needed to customize CRE Loaded templates, shipping and payment modules and much more.

The first manual of its kind dedicated to covering an Open Source ecommerce program, Inside CRE Loaded begins with background material which should be helpful in building the common ground necessary to a successful collaborative customization project. The book then maps out file structures, providing a map with which programming structures may be located. The database schema is mapped as well, with details given for the most critical elements. Software documentation includes the checkout system, how modules work, template system detail, the basic osCommerce customization features and new CRE Loaded customization features which drastically minimize the impact custom code may have on future site maintenance. About the Authors

David Graham recently established the osCommerce University to provide educational support for users of Open Source ecommerce software after 3 years with the CRE Loaded project in capacities including forum administrator, project manager and Chief Operating Officer. His educational background includes management science and adult education. His objectives are to make ecommerce technology more understandable to the general public and technical information readily available to the ecommerce support community.

Kerry Watson is the author of numerous easy-to-use books on osCommerce-based programs, including the osCommerce Users Manual, CRE Loaded Manuals, and Zen Cart Manual. She was the producer for the Netscape Navigator website and was vice president of NetAdvantage, an ecommerce turnkey outsourcing company like PayPal. Her mission is to make technology accessible to everyday users, not just technical folks.
