The Chef’s Academy Hosts Students Against Hunger Event
Students at Local Culinary Institute Host Event to Support the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina
Raleigh, NC, September 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Chef’s Academy, the Culinary Division of Harrison College, a 110-year-old, private sector college serving more than 4,000 students worldwide, has announced that it will host a Students Against Hunger event to support the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. The event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 3, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at The Chef's Academy's Morrisville campus, located at 2001 Carrington Mill Blvd.
During this family-friendly event, culinary students will prepare a variety of foods including pizzas, pastas, pot stickers and more, while the pastry students will provide 14 different dessert stations from pies to petit fours for guests to sample. Guests are asked to make a $5 donation or donate 5 non-perishable food items at the door, with all donations going to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. The food bank is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 North Carolina counties for 30 years. The food bank serves a network of more than 800 partner agencies such as soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and programs for children and adults through warehouses in Durham, Greenville, New Bern, Raleigh, the Sandhills and Wilmington.
