Houston Methodist Hospital Utilizes Digisonics Cardiovascular Information System (CVIS) at 4th Annual Multi-Modality Cardiovascular Imaging for the Clinician Symposium
The Digisonics CVIS was the system of choice for the education session demonstrating 3D and 2D/Dopper quantitation.
Houston, TX, September 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Houston Methodist Hospital recently held their 4th Annual Multi-Modality Cardiovascular Imaging for the Clinician Symposium in Houston, Texas. Directed by immediate past President of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), William Zoghbi, MD, FACC, the conference offered the opportunity, in addition to didactic lectures by world experts, to have small group tutorials in each imaging modality, and hands-on experience with heart specimens to better visualize and understand cardiac and valvular structure and enhance correlations with cardiac imaging.
During the group educational session covering 3D Echocardiography and 2D/Doppler Quantitation, participants utilized the Digisonics Cardiovascular Information System (CVIS) to learn about 3D Echo: Image manipulation, TEE simulation and 2D/Doppler Quantitation of Cardiac Chamber Volumes, LV Function and Flows. The Digisonics CVIS was an ideal choice not only in an educational setting but also in a clinical one, combining high-performance image review, professional structured reporting, an integrated clinical database, and a powerful PACS into one complete system.
Director of Cardiac Services at Houston Methodist Hospital, Marti McCulloch, BS, MB, RDCS, FASE, said, “This year at the Multi-Modality Conference, we added a learning lab session where we cloned 25 laptops with interesting cases loaded into the Digisonics CVIS system.” She appreciated Digisonics’ ease of use and flexibility adding, “The presenters, Dr. Miguel Quinones and Dr. Stephen Little, easily walked participants through basic and advanced measurements illustrating the pearls and pitfalls associated with specific measurements.”
