Helping Youth Connect the Dots-Planting Seeds of Inspiration
TEDx speaker Rosalyn Kahn reaches out to youth leaders of Division 25 Kiwanis Key Club as they gather for their Annual Leadership Conference. High School students will come from all over the San Fernando Valley. Ms. Kahn has spoken at over seven Kiwanis Groups and given the title of Distinguished Speaker in their organization and honored to address these high school students.
Los Angeles, CA, September 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Ms. Kahn will present a talk entitled "Planting the Seeds of Inspiration" held this Sat. 9/28/14 at John Burroughs High School found at 1920 Clark Avenue in Burbank at 10am where she will discuss how the volunteering efforts of her youth shaped the career endeavors she pursued. As a youngster, Ms. Kahn was very active in sales be it the Camp Fire Girls, raising money for religious group or selling candy for her swim team. Not surprisingly, one of her careers was selling commercial air time for both Spanish radio and television.
Another critical juncture was the year she spent volunteering as a performer spreading cultural understanding with a group called Up With People. Once again part of her teaching as a professor is to students from all over the world. In this role, she also has encouraged her students to volunteer. Their work in organizations helped them increase their conversational skills and marketable skills for the workplace.
Ms. Kahn has taught in a number of high schools throughout Los Angeles teaching outreach classes through LA City College and Santa Monica College. In addition, she presented a workshop this past weekend to the Miliken High School Students and those of Hemet, CA working on a Leadership and Ethics project with an Israeli Hospital. Over the summer, she addressed teens at a special venue at Queen Anne's as they held an open house for adopted youth.
Ms. Kahn has also been noted for her work with Random Acts of Kindness which can be found on her blog www.storiesfrommyteachings.blogspot.com. You can learn more by visiting her webpage which can be found by searching her name RosalynKahn.com
