Hepatitis B Foundation Adds Dr. Walter Tsou and Deborah L. Faust to Board of Directors
National Nonprofit Dedicated to Finding a Cure for Hepatitis B Welcomes Former Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Walter Tsou and Pharmaceutical Industry Executive Deborah L. Faust to Board.
Doylestown, PA, September 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Hepatitis B Foundation (www.hepb.org), the only national nonprofit organization solely dedicated to finding a cure for hepatitis B and improving the quality of life for those affected worldwide through research, education and patient advocacy, is pleased to announce the addition of Walter Tsou, MD, MPH, and Deborah L. Faust to its board of directors.
Tsou is the former Health Commissioner for the city of Philadelphia and is a nationally recognized consultant on public health and health care reform. He also sits on the board of the national Asian Pacific Islander American Health Forum, an organization that works on policy and systems changes at the federal, state and local level to benefit Asian American communities.
Faust is a pharmaceutical industry executive specializing in global and U.S. marketing for pre and post marketed products, medical affairs, clinical development, business development, healthcare administration, and more. Her background in oncology is particularly helpful, as hepatitis B is the primary cause of liver cancer worldwide.

Tsou’s professional career and volunteer activities are centered on improving public health. He is an adjunct professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Pennsylvania where he teaches health policy at the Center for Public Health Initiatives. Tsou is president of the Philadelphia Physicians for Social Responsibility and on the boards of Health Care for All Pennsylvanians, the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, Healthy Philadelphia, the Edna Kynett Foundation and the SQ Foundation.
Faust is the principal at The Aerial Group, which provides strategic direction and senior leadership to the pharmaceutical industry and related marketing and advertising agencies. She currently is consulting as Senior Vice President, Accounts for Havas WW. Faust has served as a vice president at the Nucleus Group, Meniscus Limited and Veeda Oncology. She also has held positions at ImClone Systems, Inc., Sanofi-Aventis and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Faust started her career as an oncology nurse at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, Pa.
