The 2012 November launching of Dreamgirl Creations was literally a dream come true for husband and wife duo of Edrick and Yvette Mosley. “In September of 2012, due to corporate burn out and stress, at the recommendation of my physician, I took a leave of absence for my mental well being. I knew I had to find a way to make a living, but I had no vision as to what to do. I Prayed for guidance, and the next month, the Lord stepped in and made a way out of no way; I was at the salon getting my eyelashes done and during a conversation with the owner of the salon, I mentioned that I was a licensed cosmetologist," explains Yvette. "She offered to teach me how to do eyelash extensions, and I eagerly accepted her offer." After setting up her own eyelash suite, Yvette wanted to offer more than lashes to her clients and decided to stock her space with something fun and creative that she could sell to her customers. Being a woman of great faith, again Yvette sought direction from God. Shortly there after, “One night, I had this dream which inspired me to begin creating my decorative candy filled jars. After doing a lot of research online, I purchased some jars and started to bling them out!" she exclaims. “Customers were so taken with the candy jars, I thought why not add candles to my selection as well. A friend of mine connected me with someone willing to teach me how to make the candles, and I soon began experimenting with fragrances, and Dreamgirl Creations was born!” The business exploded in a matter of months and what was a home based 'extra' income operation became a thriving entrepreneurial endeavor of love. The couple passionately embraced their new business, and Edrick and Yvette, who no longer had time for her lash extension suite, focused all their efforts on Dreamgirl Creations. By November 2012 they had made more than 300 candy and candle creations and were successfully selling their products at various craft fairs and festivals. Dreamgirl Creations eventually outgrew the Mosley’s garage leading them to open the storefront in Mesquite’s bustling Town East Boulevard retail district in August 2013.
